Privacy Policy

Effective date: 9 May 2025  ·  Version 1.0

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal information Savvy Dollar collects, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. We've written it in plain language — because you deserve to actually understand it.
1

Who we are

Savvy Dollar is a personal finance planning application operated by Savvy Dollar, based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. You can reach us at privacy@savvydollar.io.

What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information collected when you use the Savvy Dollar web application, website at savvydollar.io, and any related communications such as emails we send to you.

It does not cover third-party websites or services that we link to. Those services have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read.

  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, actions taken within the app, session duration, and click patterns.
  • Device & technical data — browser type, operating system, screen resolution, IP address, and referring URL.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 9 for full details.

Information from third parties

  • Financial account data — if you choose to connect a bank account or financial institution via a third-party open banking provider, we receive transaction and balance data that you authorise that provider to share with us. See Section 7 for details.

Financial account connections

Savvy Dollar offers an optional feature that allows you to connect your bank account or financial institution via a third-party open banking provider. This feature is entirely optional — you can use Savvy Dollar without connecting any external accounts.

If you choose to connect an account:

  • You will be directed to the third-party provider's interface to grant access. That provider's own privacy policy and terms govern their handling of your credentials.
  • We do not receive or store your bank login credentials at any point.
  • We receive only the transaction and balance data you authorise the provider to share with us.
  • That data is used solely to display your financial information within the app.
  • You can revoke the connection at any time through your account settings, after which we will no longer receive new data from that provider.

Imported financial data is stored securely and is never shared with third parties for advertising or profiling purposes.

8

Marketing communications

With your consent, we may send you emails about product updates, new features, tips for getting the most out of Savvy Dollar, and occasional promotions.

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by:

  • Clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email; or
  • Updating your communication preferences in your account settings; or
  • Emailing us at privacy@savvydollar.io.

Opting out of marketing emails does not affect transactional emails related to your account (such as billing receipts, password resets, and security alerts), which we will continue to send as necessary.

Where required by law (including Australia's Spam Act 2003 and US CAN-SPAM Act), we will only send marketing emails with your consent and will honour opt-out requests promptly.
